Run from the Mountains to the Desert
Point-to-Point along some of San Diego's most beautiful trails!

Section 1: The Start: 6:30 a.m. from Sunrise Trailhead. 5.9 miles to Museum AS. Mostly downhill. THERE IS NO CREW ACCESS AT MUSEUM.

Section 2: Museum Aid Station to Sweetwater AS. 6.8 miles. You cross the creek soon after leaving the aid station then begin a gradual climb which soon turns into gentle ups and downs the rest of the way into Sweetwater.
Drop bags and crew access at Sweetwater aid station.

​Section 3: Sweetwater Aid Station to Burnt Pine AS. 6.8 miles. One of the most challenging sections of the course. Almost exclusively uphill, sometimes steep, up to Burnt Pine aid station. THERE IS NO CREW ACCESS AT BURNT PINE.

Section 4: Burnt Pine Aid Station to Paso Picacho. 5.3 miles. Upon leaving the aid station you will climb along the paved road to Cuyamaca Peak, returning past Burnt Pine AS and down Conejos Trail, ultimately to Paso Picacho. Except for the steep climb up to the Peak, it is mostly downhill. Drop bags and crew access at Paso Picacho aid station. 2 PM cut-off (7-1/2 hours).

Section 5: Paso Picacho Aid Station to Big Bend AS. 4.4 miles. Climb almost two miles to the top of Stonewall Peak, then mostly downhill to the aid station. Crew access at Big Bend.

​Section 6: Big Bend Aid Station to Pedro Fages AS. 6.4 miles. Mostly rolling to Pedro Fages. Drop bags and crew access at Pedro Fages aid station. 4:30 PM cut-off (10 hours).

Section 7: Pedro Fages to S2 Aid Station. 9.1 miles. This is a very long section. We will have a water drop at the base of the drop into the desert. Note it will be dark or getting dark for most runners as they leave Pedro Fages. YOU MUST CARRY A HEADLAMP OR FLASHLIGHT. Mostly downhill to the desert floor and then flat to S2. THERE IS NO CREW ACCESS AT S2. CREWS MAY MEET THEIR RUNNERS IN BLAIR VALLEY, IF THEY WISH.

Section 8: S2 to Finish. 6.9 miles. Mostly flat along the desert floor. Post-race meal will be served at the Stagecoach Trails dining hall. Showers are available. Optional overnight camping available through Stagecoach Trails: (www.stagecoachtrails.com/)
